Wordsmith is a group of people from different cities acting together with a community of over 1000 people and still counting. Spoken word poetry is a form of poetry that doesn’t have to rhyme, but certain parts can be rhymed to emphasize an image or give it a lyrical quality. Spoken Word Poetry is important because it addresses one’s engagement, and empowers their voices through verse. Fana is the first spoken word of album afsanay. Fanaa in Sufism means “to die before one dies”, a concept highlighted by famous notable Muslim saints such as Rumi and later by Sultan Bahoo. Fana is written by our young author Vaibhav Upadhyay who is the founder and CEO of wordsmith foundation. And it is recited by Riya Sohini, who is an undergraduate at Christ College, Bangalore who is fond of oratory and is indeed making it big.
